To whoever it was that posted about the Dimitri mix CD that came attached to an issue of Mixmag, which issue was it? I went looking for it last night but had no luck It wasn't a cover CD - it's an actual release, I guess on Mixmag's label - it had Mixmag on the cover in big letters. Most of the people on the CD are fairly obscure - by which I mean simply, I haven't heard of them :) apart from a few big names mixed by dimitri himself. These are Bjork, UFO, Brand New Heavies. These mixes are exclusive to the CD. Other names : Second Crusade, Switchblade Sisters, Teddy G, Mondo Grosso (MAW mix) Takada (Ashley Beedle Mix) + others. The music is very upbeat "real instrument house" i.e. lots of bongoes, flutes, funky guitar licks, sampled bass lines. Theres a couple of vocal tracks and even a guitar solo! Anyhow its great fun and not remotely serious or "intelligent" So maybe I should shut up about it here :) Andrew C.
