hi all, i just realized a wonderful tool that has been at my fingertips without my realizing it. see, all this time i've been subscribing to the digest on the pretext of the ease of manageability of chunks of idm posts. the downside is that i had to save every message in every chunk, effectively replicating the idm list archive on my very own harddrive - not an economic role for a device which has had less than 20M free constantly for the past 6 months. today, while reading yet another digest of questionable savings value, i figured out that i could sub to the "live" idm list, granting me access to the individual components of the digests while also exposing these messages to certain functions of my email reader, functions which enable me to process the contents of each message and place them accordingly. this same function also allows me to set up a special list of special people, so that i never have to see another post from venomous space-wasters like our cosubscriber below. now i don't have to wait for a policy where people start getting banned from the list for _consistently_ offering little more to read than the word "nothing" extrapolated into as many words as possible. where have you gone, oh (wsp)? eric onnow: stereolab:miss modular(duophonic/eastwest japan)

A better query might be: Anyone know if this is actually out yet? I got my info on this release being out this week from the One Little Indian website, but I got no confirmation elsewhere, so I suspect it may've been delayed. Greg

I dig Tricky quite a lot as well, but as for the point about actually writing music: Take a closer look at the liner notes. I can't say this is true for every track which says "contains elements of...", but in several cases I know the original sources. The samples are as obvious and wholesale as NWA using the "Amen, Brother" break -- or to sink really low, Vanilla Ice. "Makes Me Wanna Die" is a chilling song that gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it, but the bulk of it comes directly from an Eric B. & Rakim beat. I don't say this to diminish the end result or Tricky's talent, but only to make the specific point above. Does anyone else find Bjork tremendously attractive? Yes, she is. Anyway, she does write her own music....well, maybe....I saw the South Bank show about her and she has this drum-machine (or sampler maybe) that she carries around with her and can put ideas down straight away on it. They showed her playing with it on a beach i seem to remember.
