Autechre lays out the truth about AFX (and I quote): "We don't release everything - we're not like the Aphex Twin. His best stuff is brilliant but there is so much stuff he puts out - we think that he should filter some of it." (from the Volume 8 interview) By my reckoning, if RDJ followed their advice, he'd be releasing albums less often than Kraftwerk. :) Che

Hmmm...this has kind of been my sentiments towards Autechre. Not with regards to all of their stuff, but some. They always leave in some tracks that is simply a waste (trivial/simple melodies and casio-like digital coldness), while their best stuff is nothing but mindblowing. After all, Autechre's release schedule isn't exactly on the sparse side either...
