You know, after hearing him dissed so heavily on this group, I was surprised to hear from some DJ's whose opinions I respect who say they love this album. So listen without prejudice and make up your own mind. I was underwhelmed by Timeless, so I sold it to Sean Deason. I just hate it when people pile on an artist for doing something different. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Psyche manifests as psychic through something we call 'winding', because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78 Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent

So do I. But that's not why I'm dissing Goldie. I'm dissing him because SaturnzReturn is a bad album, pure & simple. On many tracks - ESPECIALLY that 60+ minute disaster "Mother" - he's attempting to reach waaaaaay beyond his talents and just ends up looking like a fool. While I respect him for having the courage to take on such lofty goals, I also think he's a self-important twit for not recognizing that the experiment failed and should never have been let loose on an unsuspecting public. And I'm sorry, but "Temper Temper" is just so BAD... I caught a bit of the video this weekend and it just makes me cringe... Greg

I agree. I haven't heard the whole album, I heard some excerpts on the BBC listening room on the internet, I don't think its that bad. Maybe if all of us listen to it more, it may grow on us. I am a little disappointed with the Mother track though, but "Temper temper" (I heard it from a friend) is fine. "Timeless" was the first time I heard drum & bass and I think it is a landmark album. His new album may be shit but we cannot deny the impact of this man. "Metalheadz Platinum Breaks" is still for me, one of the best drum & bass compilations ever released. The global popularity of drum & bass has a lot to do with Goldie. Adrian
