I picked up a copy of donuts #2, an import (to the USA) compilation of big beat/triphop tracks on Bolshi records. Most of the songs sound quite Fatboy Slim-inspired, which I suppose is not bad, but not too great either. Overall, the comp is pretty good, not stellar, and, alas, not worth the $$$ I paid to get it. So, I'm wondering this: does Bolshi herald a soon-to-be nauseating slew of meciocre BigBeat labels aching to capitalise on the fatboy slim sound? (oh, wait, maybe this has already happened.... I saw a "This is BigBeat" 4CD comp at the record shop the other day, featuring the Prodigy! weee!) thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jonathan Logan Work: 415 543-2800 UI Droog Home: 415 487-0424 CriticalPath, Inc.
