i remember some months ago people were discussing this. my fave 2nd record store has the above and _80890_ in-house now. i remember people praising _quadrastate_ as being "un-missable" proto-techno. would anyone care to elaborate - contradict - comment ? thanks, dv8

unmissable isn't the word. 808 state basically invented what you call idm. if you find a record made this year that is as dense, as expertly produced and as emotionally diverse as 'ninety' then, well.... look, it just won't happen, alright? just make sure it isn't the u.s edition of 90 (called utd.state 90). though it has more tracks, it's all over the place, the running order is all fucked up, it has some godawful remixes from dipshit us house producers and the cover is total crap. 808:90 is their definitive statement. <waves> np - le mutant - brandi ifgray
