yeah, sorry for the confusion. that's what i meant; a typical bite track *by* arthur baker/john robie, whose production roots in the sugarhill aesthetic (remaking existing club hits by beefing up the rhythm track and adding a rap) really showed with "planet rock." point well taken (although unfortunate, particularly in this case) re: the importance of vocals in distinguishing a "cheesy club track" from a widely-recognized, enduring classic. "hip-hop be-bop" is a dope track from just about every angle, with, in my opinion, few equals in old-school hip-hop and electro. should we consider "boogie down bronx" too little too late? "...you got the perfect beat i hear you say/but you better listen close 'cuz i'm here to state..." sc
