Dear All, Have this Rumble Tum Jum 12" thingie up for trade (repress of 300 copies) and I'd just like some of Jenkinson's other works in trade for it: Any of the Spymania things (I have none), Stereotype, Bubble and Sqeak or likewise. Two 12"s of these and this one is yours. If you haven't got or can get any of these, please get in touch anyway and we'll work it out. However, Pusher traders are in priority. Not to bag on Franz's offer, but I'd say that the asked for exchange is a bit lop-sided, IMHO. You might be able to trade TWO copies of the Rumble 12" plus 10 bucks for any ONE of the spymania or worm interface 12"s. As for a copy of the Stereotype ep, the number might go up to 10 copies of Rumble and $20? It's not that good, it's not that rare and in case anyone hasn't heard it, it's not jungle. It's the 'pusher doing hardcore. This one's ONLY for serious Tom J collectors... word, brock np: v/a - Electric Lazyland IV ps: Sorry franz, but I'm just being a bit silly because you busted my balls a while back about the Gil Gershman thing. :-P pps: Do yourself a favor and go buy a copy of 'Burningn'n Tree' instead.

1) Rarity is overrated. I've been getting pissed with how things seem to get out of control when something is rare. 2) Who says that anything Squarepusher has done is Jungle? it's kindof junglish but it's not jungle, as defined by the genre. and Rumble isn't hardcore either. It's acid. I think if someone wants Rumble EP it's a worthy trade :) __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ www.freq-div.home.ml.org

If anyone actually wants the Rumble Tum Jum Squarepusker thang... it's not worth any two of Tj's other 12"s... I'll trade it for shipping (3.00US) and some dubs of anything. Kalib

Who can listen to a Squarepusher recording all the way through? I can barely stand the "Port Rhombus" EP, and the rest of his material is forgettable tosh. Feel free to flame me.

I think that Port Rhombus is my favorite Tom J material under that name... brap@sonic.net /// occasional noisy soundfiles (np: burundi challenge.rm) http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ blackdog, vvm, whitezone-l, slipdisc C.Gosselin, PO Box 8264, Santa Rosa, CA 95407

Yesterday I listened to Hard Normal Daddy, Big Loada, and a CDR w/ Port Rhombus, Squarepusher Plays 12, Carwreck Rmx, Scratch Yer Hed Rmx, Vic Acid 12, & some Tom J tracks on it, all in one sitting. The day before it was Burningn Tree & Feed Me Weird Things. I got quite productive at the computer, let me tell you. There's something about his manic energy that puts me in the mood to work. I have noticed, though, that if I try to sit around & listen to it, without focusing my mind on something really intense, that I get extremely agitated. It's sort of like methamphetamine without the cost or evil side effects. Che

I agree. I wasn't saying that it wasn't good because it wasn't rare, I was saying it wasn't worth trading for something rare because it's still quite available.

Well, due to the fact that squarepusher got two nominations for 'Drum & Bass Album of the Year' on the '97 IDM poll and ended up winning, I say that a large percentage of the people on this list would classify squarepusher as jungle. What's the definition of jungle anyway? I'd say it's 150 to 190 (aprox) bpm breakbeat, incorporating chopped up beats (but not always) and massive b-lines... Also saying that the Rumble EP 'isn't hardcore...it's acid' is a bit of a stretch. Anything with a 303 is acid? If someone says 'acid' to me, I'd think 'acid house', not 190 bpm breaks with acid lines. Most people define all these silly genres mainly by their beats. The tracks on the rumble ep are all in the hardcore range and follow that structure.

I agree, but would you trade a joyrex 12" for it? Doubt it... word, brock. np: D'cruze - 'Cruzin'
