It might be difficult to say that Richard & Judy Public are in an awareness of Brian Eno, but he's hardly underground either. He's interviewed on British TV and Radio quite often, gives lectures, does music for exhibitions, publishes books etc. I think his involvement with U2 is pretty well-known, even among U2 fans. A few years ago Paul Morley did a programme "The Thing Is...An Interview", which ducked and weaved around the standard interview format, with Mr. Eno as the subject. OK, it was on Channel 4 so the audience will have been pretty small but I think it's simply untrue to claim that only "musicians and music business people" are aware of him. adam
