There's an new section in the Las Vegas Hilton called
the Space Quest Casino, right next to the entrance to
"Star Trek - The Experience". The SciFi space motif
of the casino is nicely done, but I was most impressed
and surprised by the quality of music being played.
Very nice IDM/electronica. While playing BlackJack I
heard some William Orbit, Squarepusher and FSOL. Also some
laid back Detroitish sounding techno, and only one tune with
vocals, a Bjork/plaid thing, I think. The tunes weren't mixed,
but flowed pretty nicely.
I would have expected the casino to go for the cheeze with
the theme from Close Encounters, etc.
("ST - The Experience" was also cool.)
