I know that Franz picked the Quant Breaking and Entering 12" as *the* Dot release, but after just receiving both this and Argonort's Mingus ep, I have to say that the Argonort really takes it for me... this thing is *amazing* Serious the best thing that came my way last year (and thats including the Black Dog demo which *still* and will forever remain (now) 2nd on my list, for life =) Are there any other Argonort releases (realize this is the only Dot), perhaps under a different name? This is some serious shit and its sitting right next to Miles Davis (file under serious evil shit) I hope that Dot's artists can keep putting out material *this* good... thus far, it just keeps getting better and better, and the Argonort release is quite a bit different stylewise than previous Dot releases, so perhaps they can / will! Plus, the remix LPs are coming! brap@sonic.net /// looking for reason http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ blackdog, vvm, whitezone-l, slipdisc C.Gosselin, PO Box 8264, Santa Rosa, CA 95407

Hey brap, take a look at this. This is forwarded email (from Nick Westwood, one half of Argonort).
quoted 1 line Al and I started working together about 4 years ago and have released>>Al and I started working together about 4 years ago and have released
stuff under the names 'Floating Point', 'ID' and 'Jung Collective'. Alan has taken Jung Collective further and released a CD album on his own label Kabal Agogo, he's also released/releasing 12's and albums as 'Jazz Spanky' on the Cup of Tea/Milk label. I've started working under the guise of 'Orgone' for Kabal Agogo and will have an album released later this year. << Dot will release their full length, probably in November this year. hope this helps bye rob

I've got a Jazz Spanky 12" that came out on Milk last summer, and it's fucking great! Sort of sleazy, loungey d'n'b. When I caught one of the guys from Combustible Edison DJing a lounge/exotika night in Boston last fall, he dropped a track into his set and it fit perfectly. I think he's got something coming out on Ninja Tune under this name as well. Greg
