The following is new release news from the official Warp website: Singles Max Tundra - Childran At Play 12" (WAP101) and CD (WAP101CD) - 9 February 1998 Mira Calix - Pin Skeeling 2x10" (10WAP97) and CD (WAP97CD) - 23 February 1998 B12 - 3EP 12" (WAP102) and CD (WAP102CD) - 2 March 1998 Max Tundra is new boy Ben Jacobs and the two track single Children At Play is his very first release. The Max Tundra warpography page has some Real Audio snippits from the two tracks. Mira Calix's second single for Warp is a double 10" pack with another lush metallic cover. Chantal (Mira) is now no longer Warp's press officer, as we have signed her for an album, which she is currently recording. The single track listing is below, Mark Clifford helped produce it. A1 Ms. Meteo B1 Sandsings (Vendor Refill Stylaphone Mix) C1 Sandsings (remixed by Boards of Canada) D1 Sandsings B12 return with a beefy new sound on their first ever single for Warp, the three track EP is imaginatively and descriptively entitled the "3EP". The spotters amongst you will be wondering what we are planning for our WAP100 release, well, whilst it's not yet finalised we are planning something smart... Albums We're chuffed to bits that we will be jointly releasing the first Boards of Canada album with SKAM early this year and we've an album on the way from a brilliant new band from Birmingham, Plone (Plone are playing live at January's Blech btw, come and check 'em out), Warp stalwarts Aphex Twin, Red Snapper, Autechre, Nightmares On Wax, Plaid, Squarepusher, Jimi Tenor, and Broadcast are all recording like mad and are expecting to deliver albums this year. We are still eagerly awaiting our first Two Lone Swordsmen album and expect this to be one of the first albums released this year, along with an EP with some smart remixes. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

No offense guys (lance), but posting information directly from sites that are readily accessable and well known (eg:Warp) seems a bit pointless unless you're adding information. Why not just point out that site where you got the information from? Let's try to keep this forum less "cluttered" shall we. not everybody has web access or the time to web browse. there's far more clutter from complaints. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

We don't all have time to go browsing web pages for new releases. Lance provides many great services to this list, and I wish to see them continue. Paul Rafanello intone@warwick.net

I second the motion, Lance has never dropped a bunk post on the list, everything he has to say is informative and to the point. respect is due 1000 times, Bryan

Oh, for Christ sake -- we apologize for suggesting that Lance was anything other than a God. And we apologize to all of you who are too lazy to check the Warp website to read the new release list. And we apologize for stating a preference that these lists be used for exchanging original thoughts rather than a mix of cut and paste from easily available sites and for sale lists. Rick

Dear Rick, I am not God and i have never suggested that i was. I am a person who loves electronic music and i enthusiastically pursue that passion. When i find information that others may be interested in i post it. When other people ask questions that i can answer, i do. With the exception of that recent post about upcoming warp releases, i post information that is not easily available on any other websites. If you consider helpful music information clutter then you can just delete my posts. I have never spoken ill of you or your store, why are you so quick to flame me and everyone else on the list? Has the full moon made you loopy or is this your natural disposition? Is this how you treat your Synaptic customers when they ask you questions? Calm down or keep quiet. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

warpnet can be a hassle at times, especially when you have an amiga and not a PC and only a 33k6 connection. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ www.freq-div.home.ml.org
