Here's some of my impressions. The Mealtime comp on the whole is quite good, with the live Jega, Mould, Mu-ziq remixes, Point Blank, and yes...the Horse Opera tracks coming in on the top of the heap for me. The Aphex track, however, I feel to be one of the weaker tracks on the comp. It seems to rely on several rather cliche'd samples (such as a funk guitar riff and a rather stale drum break) to drive the track forward. All in all, it ends up being a rather boring stab at a genre that many consider to be getting tired as it is. Despite the Aphex track though, I gotta admit that I really love the comp, and I'm still lovin' that drill shtuff... --brian rachielles idm review archive: www.geocities.com/paris/metro/9160/idm.htm audio on kcsb fm santa barbara intelligent techno/dnb: www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/club/4980

oh.. yes I thought it was a bit weak myself at first. It's a bit nice of a change of pace though. also you could say it has some soul in it (if just a tad). i wouldn't rank it in the top 40 afx tracks though. my fav. track so far on there is the one by mould -- __ __\ \ Game Program ( R G / /_\ \ .gampggrmx.1x26s..1<,www.freq-div.home.ml.org<,, \_____/ >> buh@clark.net >> < > .. >> .<>> >> >

Hmm yeah i was gonna post about it when i first got that comp. The Aphex track sounds like the most normal-sounding thing he's done in a long time.... -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

It sounds 'normal' but it sounds excellent, its a lot easier (relatively ;) to do 'wierd' and excellent music imo! this track rocks... the way the tempo keeps changing very slightly... super.... better than some i could mention on mealtime ;-) Steve http://freespace.virgin.net/kung.funk/kf.htm
