Just been listening to Electro-World by Elecktroids, that Kraftwerk piss-take album on Warp. I wasn't around on this list at the time of it's release, and I can't check the archives to find out what was said, but I was just wondering whether there was any discussion at the time about it and who might have been responsible for it. All the signs would point to Drexciya or UR or Aux 88 or those lot with those mysterious faceless techno-bods on the cover, the American voices on the track and the 'thanks to God' on the back cover. Who else would bother to do a whole albums worth of this stuff?! It's bad really, although not half as good as what it's pastiching. Also heard Drexciya 4 - Unknown Aquazone in my local record shop earlier this week. The best thing I've heard in quite a while (3 on Rephlex was good, but not this good), so I'm tempted to go back and get it next week. It's expense on import but sounds like it's worth it. Did any of the tracks on this end up on the 'Quest' compilation? I know the CD had lots of tracks on it, while the vinyl was slimmed down (all the exclusive stuff, maybe?). It has been said that agents of the Drexciyan order had a hand in the Electroids releases. It is also said that those same agents had a hand in the Doppelereffkts records as well. But is this might be disinformation intended to throw the trail off the true culprits but, then again, it may be true. :)

Six of the seven tracks on The Unknown Aquazone 2x12" appear in some form on The Quest 2xCD. Intro, Aqua Jujidsu, Lardossen Funk and Take Your Mind are on The Quest in their original form. Living on the Edge and Aquabahn appear on The Quest in remixed form. Finally, the track Mantaray is not on The Quest. There is a considerable difference between the vinyl and 2xcd versions of The Quest. The 2xcd version has 28 tracks whereas the vinyl version has only nine tracks. But the vinyl version does have a new mix of Depressurization and another track, Reef Rhythms (Bonus Beat), that is not on the 2xcd. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

The guy at my record store insisted that this was one of the guys from Drexciya. But this was also the same person who insisted Global Goon was RDJ. But above and beyond that I think Elektro World is such a fine albumn. This one always seems to make it back onto to my frequently played list of albumns.
