God dangit, had the ANdre Esterman ep on the deck all week long at 45rpm and never realized. Now i throw it on at 33 and I don't like it as much. So which is it33/45? Prolly 33, but it sure sounded better at 45. Iam not a huge vinyl freak (sorta just started buying rekkids) so tell me doesn't really fucking matter? I mean it's what my ears like right? Somehow my guilty conscience says "No gil, the artists recorded the track to be played at 33, therefor to get what he/she wants to communicate with you, play it at the correct speed." Ugh, I'm ruined. Do many of you go thru this? one rekkid that blew my mind being spun at the wrong speed was Aphex's ON (second track 73-yips). If you have 1200's play it at the slowest possible speed. thanks in advance, g

Yes, I go thru great torture sometimes, in fact I won't even *play* a record until I know for sure what speed it's supposed to be played at...(I wouldn't play the Plaid Undoneson 12" or the Randa Roomet 12" until I'd listened to the realaudio on warp's website to find out how it was supposed to sound)... -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

i guess i'd like to know what the 'orgininal' sound was supposed to be, but doesn't anyone feel like they are getting a little something extra when a 12" can be played nicely at both speeds? i love the fact that bubble and squeak (i believe its b&s) actually gives both speeds...
