I have it on pretty good information that the Bjork US tour is cancelled. Can anyone confirm/deny this or provide the reasons for the cancellation? And does anyone know what Plaid did on Homogenic? Sam

I heard the same thing on another list this afternoon and it was attributed to a kidney infection. Don't know if it's the truth... As for 'Homogenic', I've yet to check the credits, but there are a few tracks that sound like they got Baumont Hannet/Richard Brown written all over 'em, but I could be wrong. Or as put in a very funky post by the g at warp: 'get the new lfo album folks it's ace it's called homogenic and has got that bjork bird singing o' Go figure... wordout, brockout. np: v/a - 'alt. freq 2 - disco moonlight'

Here's something offa http://www.addict.com/MNOTW/lofi/971202/971202_2038.shtml News Flash: Bjork Illness Forces Show Cancellations "...has been advised by her doctor to rest for three weeks," according to an Elektra press release. Addicted To Noise Senior Writer Gil Kaufman reports : Icelandic singer Bjork has canceled several upcoming U.S. concert appearances in support of her latest album after suffering a high fever caused by what doctors diagnosed as a routine kidney infection. The enigmatic singer was resting at her Reykjavik, Iceland home between rounds of publicity appearances for her latest album, Homogenic, when she began running a high temperature, according to Joel Amsterdam of Elektra Records. She was taken to a nearby hospital Thursday and discharged Monday (Dec. 1). "While she is in no immediate danger, [Bjork] has been advised by her doctor to rest for three weeks," according to an Elektra press release. The singer will be unable to fulfill a number of December concert appearances in the U.S., Amsterdam said. Among the Christmas radio shows that Bjork will have to forfeit are a Dec. 5 slot at KROQ's "Acoustic Christmas" in Los Angeles, a Dec. 7 appearance at Live 105's "Green Christmas" in San Francisco and Q101's Dec. 11 "Twisted Christmas 4" in Chicago, which also will feature Sugar Ray, 311, Duran Duran, Everclear and Sarah McLachlan. Fans who bought tickets to a handful of non-radio shows scheduled during her recovery are out-of-luck as well. Also canceled are a Dec. 8 date at Los Angeles' Shrine and a Dec. 14 date at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, as well as a scheduled Dec. 16 appearance on David Letterman's "Late Show" in New York. Although Amsterdam said the singer currently doesn't have a U.S. tour planned, it is likely that she will return to the States in the new year, once she has fully recovered, he added. In the meantime, a video for the next single, "Bachelorette," has been completed. The clip was directed by video experimentalist Michel Gondry (Beck, Lenny Kravitz).
