Is it me or is there something REALLY fucking wrong with my DEMON 1 ep anyone else find this problem. I just got it today, all excited and shit, and the first track can barely be heard, you can hear the needle sound like it's at the end of the groove type shit. Then half way thru it sound perfect what the fuck? gil ps: WHY do these records come sooo goddamn dirty? I can't understand why such wonderful music would be delivered and packaged so terrible.

I've found the same thing with my MAS stuff. Those platters are always covered with filth. However, I haven't had the same problem with it playing incorrectly or the pressing actually being bad. I did just get some new MAS stuff (Demon 1, A. Eastermann, Freeform) today that I haven't had the chance to liste to yet. Hopefully I won't have the same problem. Someone ought to write to the MAS people and tell them that we love their packaging (those brown things are the coolest), but that they shoud probably include some liners in there to keep the things away from the cardboard chunks that those packages give off. One more thing: I'm pretty sure Resonance Records the online store has most of the schematic stuff left. You might to check them out. I don't remember their address off the top of my head, just try your favorite search engine. erm, one more thing: the idm review archive has yet to be updated due to a continuation of the isp problems that I mentioned last week. However, I think I'll be changing isp's pretty soon, so they should be up in a matter of a week or so. Keep the reviews coming! but you know me...always tryin' to keep it real. --brian rachielles brachielles@juno.com idm review archive, audio on kcsb, zaph records: www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/club/4980

I had the same problem with my copies, and was worried the pressing was bad because I had already cleaned the records with my felt cleaner. After hearing from other list members, I tried cleaning again with a soft damp cloth + a can of compressed air + new paper sleeves, and the records were just fine. They really ought to provide sleeves though anyway like you said - the closing tab on the cardboard outers can leave marks on the vinyl surface (at least they did on mine). GD

okay, I finally got around to listening to the new MAS stuff I got yesterday, and alas, it does seem as though my Demon 1 has some sort of pressing flaw on the first track. I tried 6 turntables at my radio station before I found one that would play it, and I'm pretty sure the tables are fine as I've never had any problems with them before. Even when the table would play it, it seemed kind of sketchy for the first 2 minutes. Oh well, flawed or not, that BOC remix is unbelievable... --brian rachielles brachielles@juno.com idm review archive, audio on kcsb, zaph records: www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/club/4980
