hmm...
to tell the truth, i'm not as wild about the coldcut as i hoped i'd be.
i love more beats and pieces, and atomic moog, and some of the others,
but the jello biafra piece can be grating, as well as noah's toilet (my
co-workers love to make fun of the title after they picked up the case
while i was listening to it - "noah's toilet? what the hell is that? the
sex tapes? what are these kids listening to these days?"). so most of it
is good, but it doesn't grab me as much as other stuff that i've heard
from them. i apppreciate the message that they're trying to send, but i
think you can overdo it, too. i still haven't had a chance to give the
CD-Rom a really good runthrough.
listening to the new speedy j right now. lots different from anything i
had heard before. kinda like it. okay so i'm behind the times. are
ni-go-snix and patterns vinyl only?
has anyone figured out which pink floyd song rubber johnny uses in
drumrolypoly? i listened to saucerful of secrets and piper at the gates
of dawn last night but i either missed it or just didn't find it. i'll
keep looking. gives me a good excuse to dust off some stuff i haven't
heard for awhile. definitely shows that music of now relies on, or at
leasts understands the value of music of the past.
