WEB (Takuya Sugimoto) has a full-length CD out on Soup-Disk's Silverstone imprint ("Soup Disk Racing League"). under the name NAGI. the album, _Michi_, sounds like a less sampler-crazed DJ Shadow given a thorough Clear once-over. moody piano and heavily-accented syncopated beats predominate. skip directly to "fuyuu" or "two carp under the ice" (imagine Harold Budd duetting with L@N) if you get a chance to test-drive this beautiful album. the 'inspirations' list is fascinating, including Req, .O.rang, Mo Boma, RLW/P16D4, Gastr del Sol, AMP, Nina Simone, Cut Chemist, Oval, Lateef, Kenny Larkin, Eddie "Flashin'" Fowlkes, Mouse on Mars, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. that probably tells you more about _Michi_ than any lame track-by-track could. very very special. gg/ gg2g4ink@sprynet.com np: davey williams - charmed, i'm sure (ecstatic peace)
