i think there're no better images for the covers of his records, as they completely reflect what's contained inside...and if you've ever met him, you might say he looks even creepier in person... mikebee

Richard D James is a conundrum wrapped in an enigma. Or perhaps not, but more than anyone else making electronic music he and his record company have fostered a cult of personality. Supposed facelessness as an asset in techno was obviously chucked out of the gondola long ago. The repeated use of his face in art and videos reminds me of Mao. Kind of a twisted grinning bastard version of Mao, but if his face shows up ten stories high on the side of public buildings, be very afraid. If anyone asked him I'm sure he'd say that he's just "having a laugh" or "taking the piss" or some such other British expression American anglophiles find so irresistable.

I have to disagree here. He looks like a normal lad in person.. and he also seemed very polite (hah) __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ www.freq-div.home.ml.org

I think the picture is great! What do you want the man to use as cover art... a picture of himself next to a couch or something? I don't like boring cover art. ____________________________________________________________________________ Brian Gingold, University of California at Davis "sound" - KDVS 90.3 FM alternate Thursdays 12-3AM ambient/experimental/idm Web: http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~gingold

You must have caught him on a bad day. I thought he was really nice and pleasant. Yeah, he's full of mischief but I think that's admirable- hell, I love KLF for making it into an art!
