can someone drop some plug research science for me? i've seen/heard them mentioned many times as an experimental techno powerhouse, but all i've held in my hands was that compilation 12 with previously-released ishii and paradinas tracks on it. i know they have more releases than this, so if anyone who's familiar can give some sense of the styles they release, artist names, reviews, etc. that would be great. eric

If you want a good taste of what Plug Research puts out check their recent Plug Research & Development compilation cd or the Trash Aesthetic comp 12". Also the new Phthalocyanine: Navy Warship CD on PR is very good. I'll repost reviews and a full Plug Research discography later today or tomorrow. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Mr. Ishii's track has never been released anywhere before or since. (those 2 tracks are also on 2 different compilation releases) i know they have more releases than this, so if anyone who's familiar can give some sense of the styles they release, artist names, reviews, etc. that would be great. --> Before answering some of these questions, I would like to thank you and anyone else for your interest in our label on behalf of my partner Allen and myself. Hopefully this might help: DISCOGRAPHY PG001 ("Wrench") later licensed to "Sublime Records" (Tokyo) PR2-PHTH1 ("Viridian EP" by Phthalocyanine) PR3-MC1 ("Mini Compilation 1") "Mai Fun" by Jamie Hodge, "Metal Thing #1" by Spatchula Freak, "Creace" by Rook Valard (aka OST), "Raf" by r.e.a.l.m. (Joe & Allen) PR4-MC2 ("Mini Compilation 2") "Jerk" by Crank (aka Low Res), "Vints" by Phthalocyanine, "Air Jarring" by Flare (Ishii), "Herz" by Beautyon (Irdial Discs) PR5-KR1 ("Mood EP" by Kim Rapatti) Kim is the man behind "DUM Records" in Finland and also releases tracks under Mono Junk, Melody Boy 2000 and Detroit Diesel. PR6-LST1 ("Black Star" by Lustmord) Dark industrial ambient release by Brian Lustmord PR7-ML1 ("Mannequin Lung EP") 3 tracks of "minimal" techno by Joe & Allen PR8-TA1 ("Trash Aesthetic") Joe & Allen with Danny Zelonky of "Low Res" "minimal-experimental techno" (pardon the adjectives!) PR9-MH1 ("Mr. Hazeltine's Advanced Engines") Mr. Hazeltine is none other than John Tejada of "Palette Records" I guess more "minimal grooves!" PR10-CDC1 ("Plug Research & Development" CD) 10 previously unreleased tracks from artists: - "Smyglyssna", a new Plug Research artist from Sweden - A "Lustmord" remix of a "Phthalocyanine" track - "Wrench" (Allen's mix) - "Nine Machine" (Mark Broom & Steve Pritchard from "Stasis") - "Low Res" (Sublime & Metroplex) - "Ravens Over Venice" (Akin from Irdial Discs) - "TD5" from "Truck Musik" in Australia - "Mr. Hazeltine" (John Tejada's alias for Plug Research) The double vinyl version of the CD compilation will be released later this month with 5 new tracks (8 total) giving it a different feel than the CD. Both "Smyglyssna" and "TD5" have submitted their own 12"s in the works to be released before Thanksgiving. A Mannequin Lung Album has also been compiled to be released on CD and double vinyl by Christmas. Thank you all again for your time, and please contact us privately for any further information. Plug Research vinyl releases are exclusively distributed by 7th City in Detroit. (www.7thcity.com)
