Careful how you read things... I did not imply that at all, to say that 'elctronic instruments *encourage* music which is ultimately guided by numbers and specifications' is not to say that the person who is using the gear is not guided by the mind or soul - but *ultimately* if you want to go beyond the *defined* parameters of an electronic instrument, you are stuck - FACT. Have you never found limitations in your gear! :)

careful how you say things... this implies that electronic music is _not_ guided by the mind & soul. which is untrue! machines do not program themselves, there is a mind behind the music :) i know what you meant, a sequencer only has so many points at which you can enter a note... but the artists using the sequencer can have much more mind & soul guiding them than say a rock guitarist who has memorized some notes. perhaps sequencing is just a really good form of memorization that doesn't depend on the human mind, or something ;)

well sure, that's because the gear doesn't really matter at all if the person using it isn't creative; of course this has already been said many times. but i guess there are some who are always looking for the new gear, spending more time drooling over the gear ads than using the gear they already have. and Anthony, you can attest to this for me, as you've heard what i've made w/ my extremely limited gear.. :) . .',`' ;,',' / // christopher graves ',/ ,| \':;.,: |.]\.grav/krac5..;colongib&jujubomb
