OK. I just bought Daft Punk: Homework, and i was hoping I'd love it based on
their CMJ show. I like it, but it just doesn't quite funk hard enough for
me. Is there anything else on the funky housey minimalist disco robo tip
that provides much funk for the buck? I'm sort of clueless about this all.
What does Detroit stuff ala Craig, Atkins, Saunderson sound like (Hey
Peter-wasn't that minimalist mixtape you played a Craig tape?)? What about
the French new school, like the Sourcelab comps, or Laurent Garnier? What
about Plastikman, Luke Slater, Ken Ishii, and other current types? I guess
I'd like 2 things-descriptions, and opinions. And as always, a few
outstanding suggestions would be better than a long list of everything you
like in the genre. Thanks a lot.
