there are numerous machines out there that are "do it all in one"
machines. Anything from an Korg M1 to a trinity to a JV90 to XP80 etc.
My personal favorite, esp for a machine that blends the old with the
new, is the NORD II made by Clavia. It's got plenty of sounds and
knobs to drive you mad. 16voice, 4 part multitimbral, 4outs, ring mod,
two VCOs, arpegiator, blah blah. Everything you do on this machine can
be recorded into your computer. From what I've been told this
machine's drum sounds are pretty decent. So for some minimal techno,
get this and powerbook and you're set!!!
