any IDM'ers ever go to any of the SHIT parties? Any reviews? I just got a flyer to the next one. The flyer resembles a long piece of toilet paper and carries a warning not to wipe your ass with it or suffer a paper cut. anyway, here's the 411: Friday, Sept 26. - john tejada (palette, a13) - Kenneth graham (of control team) - Tim Hyde (ultralink) - Tom Allain (stimuli) all playing cool and/or wierd techno. The only person I know on the bill is TOM ALLAIN and his record bag is normally full of Rephlex/Warp stuff. Last time I saw him, he and I were tripping about some record on Music Aus Strom he didn't realize he had. Judging by this, I bet the music will be IDM worthy. I always thought the shit parties would be focused mainly on IDM types of shit, but they're not. Tom's (as well as Tim Hyde's) take on 'experimental' is hard techno. Boom Boom Boom Boom I know Tom has a soft spot in his heart for Rephlex/Warp/Skam type stuff, but that's not really what he plays out. He was nice enough to ask me down to play at the last shit, and I found that dark, minimal techno was the standard for the night. Another local weirdo, Zodiac, played a bit of squarepusher, afx and the like in the very small back room. I played distorted triphop, techstep and other generally loud and nasty forms of idm, tag teaming with NY jungle dj, darkstar. Overall, it was pretty cool, but I was a little out of it, since I played 4 parties in 3 days that weekend and slept a total of 0 hours. :-( So there's the shit from my pov, brock. np: Air Liquide - 'neue frankfurter elektronik scheule 1991'
