I dunno - after the first few listens, I was surprised by how it had aged actually. Not in relation to IDM/d&b as a whole but mainly cos it does sound markedly different and older compared to say _Big Loada_ - you can see Tom's progression into tweaking more elements than just the Amen. Maybe its an equipment thing though. Still recommend it though - theres some mad stuff on there. The new tracks are same period stuff I think and because I don't have _Conumber_, I don't know which ones they are so I can't tell you how good/bad they are. LP is called _Burningn'n Tree_, although tests have _New album_ stickered on them. Its quite a quiet pressing (due to the number of tracks I guess) which was surprising because Warp had the tracks remastered (obviously, for the extra tracks) and I didn't notice too much bass, although on my stereo thats hardly fucking surprising.

Word. Its also on the first Apollo compilation and on an early Apollo 12" that I would kill to own (APOLLO-2?).

Quite nice(ish). Autechre-styled beats and skitty little melodies without much 'gel' to it. Not bad, a bit bland IMO.

They also used to own a label - Nucleus which is going back a few years. James Skilton will tell you all about this at the end of the week or something as he's got a few Nucleus 12"s. They're quite nice - smooth, housey techno - pretty representative of their time. || [CiM] || simonw@sol.ftp.com || -
