And this dude's writing from Hyperreal?!?! With that attitude -- one wonders what kind of a trader he would be. I owe an apology -- I guess I made the stupid mistake of thinking that the whole purpose of something like Hyperreal-dot-**ORG**, for instance, had a little something to do with community responsibilities, assisting your fellow trainspotters & so on. Hmph. So -- if it's ALL supposed to be about MUSIC, as Aran so prosaically suggested, then I actually *support* him: let's take down the IDM list, which is all just *talk.* At least, that is, until we can perhaps *sing* our e-mails, or even better, just communicate with one another in simple tones, as in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Ironizing heavily, sr -- sd

Indeed. Straight to lacanian@mindspring.com, I find it odd you would feel compelled to quote out of context! How community responsible of you!

Those who know don't wonder. Please, crop the silly string.

hyperreal@hyperreal.org? <scratching head> Yes, the people who make hyperreal.org happen are well versed in community responsibilities, without whom. As for the intelligent dance music list members, I cannot attest. I'm only suggesting IDM exercise the option to stay on topic.

"...just *talk.*" Hardly. I'm PROUDER then a new parent when I read a good IDM review, or show report. List members web dedications give me a bookmarking hard on! I even enjoy the more characteristic asides and cameraderie as much as even the most tolerant lurkers. Well spoken (elaborated) top ten lists have their own pine folder. For Sale prompts and Event Listings and Talent Rosters are my nachos, yum. I trainspot shamelessly. I do however wade through a fair amount of ancillary information, or chum, which too often results in a feeding frenzy I find myself wishing was quite simply off list. Given the state of the archives, which have been turned off for months, an attempt at noise reduction need not be twisted into some bold move by the evil empire. Ooooo you called me out for a bad trader, now I have to mention my for sale list! Email me in private for a copy. Aran Bad Trader Dude ps: Perhaps you are right, perhaps the IDM list should be about intelligent dance music and there should be another list for helping people with general soup to nuts musical community information. Serious.
