Not really idm but worth discussing. A month or so ago I saw mention of this and found it the other day. New Order was one of those bands who got me to listen to electronic music to begin with. Video 5-8-6 is a 22 minute track composed for the opening of the hacienda back in 81 I beleive. No vocals are present. It is basically new order doing a electro trance number <i have no other way to describe it>. It vaguely reminds me of blue monday. The track has a very nice groove and somewhat stands up today. I found myself nodding along with this 22 minute song. Never once getting bored with it. Kinda lulls you into it. A little dated yes but way ahead of its time for 81. If you want something different check it out. If you are a new order fan it is a must. As an added bonus, the vinyl version has a b side. The b side has a track by Joy division <what new order was before Ian killed himself - for those who are not familliar>. The track is "as you said" and is from the 7 inch komakino. The identity of this track comes from a reliable source. This track is amazing. Sounds like something from today. Something perhaps on plug research or the like. There are no lyrics and it is very short. -dan
