Volume One_ [Plk CD 001] compilation. As someone already mentioned, it holds up well today even though it was released 4 years ago. Here's the track listing: 1. Rameses - Diji Space 5.41 2. Mantrac - Apok Dub 5.15 3. Underground Science - Protosynthesis 5.55 4. Mantrac - Coaster Dub 6.29 5. Somnambulist - Nightflyte 6.47 6. Animus Armor - And On 6.22 7. Megalon - Darkness 6.22 8. Wild West - Citric 6.17 9. Underground Science - Metamorphic 8.01 10. Megalon - Semblance 6.14 11. Pluto - Plutobeat 6.07 12. Stranger - Krakatoa 5.40 total time=75.16 The tracks are mostly mid-tempo IDM style. Also worth checking into are the Megalon - Dax EP [Plk037] and an early Underground Science 12" that I've forgotten the name of (oops). The Megalon EP is more abstract and dark, while the U.S. 12" has somewhat of a Black Dog feel to it. | E r i c | [mail] franse@engr.arizona.edu | | F r a n s | [web] http://engr.arizona.edu/~franse | "The comfort you demanded is now mandatory!" - Jello Biafra

Plink Plonk is owned and run by Mr C, formerly of the Shamen. The style is generally harder dancefloor techno but there are a few mellower idm and trancey releases as well. A good release to hear what the Plink Plonk label is about is the Parasols Vol 2 2xCD comp. It contains tracks from all the Plink Plonk artists like Ian Pooley, Kenny Larkin, Stacey Pullen, Mark Broom, LA Synthesis, ect. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

I have a Plink Plonk compilation calles Parasols 02. It's quite good, I would recommend giving it a listen if you get a chance. It's not ALL good but it's a double cd so there's lots of tracks. And yes, last I knew Mr.C was the head honcho of Plink Plonk. The question now is, if he has such good taste in music (e.g. Psychotrance 1, real good stuff ) why do the Shamen pretty much suck? hey ben, to get an idea where plink plonk is coming from check out the 'parasols' comp. i t has a good cross section of the labels releases. it was released in 93 but it still sounds really good. i have the cd version. i don't know if it was done on vinyl or not. (for the purists!) later, peace, love and ambience. d... d@techno.ca orbital@clo.com http://www.clo.com/~orbital
