Some crak smokin wanker journalist wrote: ------------------------------ England's quirky Aphex Twin was a bit of a mystery, as usual: head twin Richard James and his partner came out in pink and blue bunny suits (huh?), but their seemless acid house and techno tracks took the late-night set into hazy yet effective sonic territories. ------------------------------ This person's smokin too much crak. They were *bear* suits, not rabbits. One was green, one was orange. Neither bear was RDJ - he was sitting in the middle of the stage. "Acid House?" This guy's definately smokin crak. And worst of all: "Quirky!" That's a sycophantic music journalistic code word for "It was too weird... I didn't understand it... In fact, I hated it but I'm afraid to publicly admit it because I'm a wanker." -CF

okay, and better yet, i like the "head twin" part... cause you *know* there's two of them. you just never hear about the other guy. kinda like early mu-ziq or something. anyway. alan!

Truth told, early u-ziq *did* in fact have an "other" who played bass and tweaked delays. I have seen a vid of an old Orbit (the UK club) gig and low and behold there is "the guy" (why do I want to say Francois Naughton?) behind Mike's kit w/necked&pedaled instrument. I'm certain Mike is/was not too hip to the situation as he clearly carries the major portion of creative load on his shoulders. Heh, there's even one instance in the vid when he clearly keeps cutting back (and eventually out) a distorted guitar line level. For real, Teep np: toe tappin wes montgomery
