it's simply the case that everyone else has justcaught up with kraftwerk, no artist is ahead of their time, most people are behind thiers and.. as for adam f, for want of a better phrase the guy is a talentless wanker, major label fodder, this years yuppie accessory alongside paul weller and roni size, he isnt fit to grace the same planet let alone breathe the same air as kraftwerk stuart @ mfr http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/mfr/ cutting edge mail order..elecktronic label [esoteric, non-generic material wanted] np - husker du - metal circus

well, I have major respect for Kraftwerk, don't get me wrong, twas one of the main reasons for wanting to check Tribal out again and I was waiting a blooomin hour squashed up at the front with glaring lights right in me eyes, full of anticipation for them ... but, perhpas my expectations were tooo high, i dunno, just seemed like there was nothing new there and for guys that had been sooo radical in the past, well, just felt a bit sad really .... I wanted to be blown away by them, as in the past but wasn't ....
quoted 2 lines no artist>no artist >is ahead of their time,
I beg to differ here, in terms of vision, some are light years ahead! There would be no progress if certain artists, musicians, writers, scientists weren't ahead of their time in terms of thought, action and vision!
quoted 1 line and..as for adam f, for want of a better phrase the guy is a talentless wanker,>and..as for adam f, for want of a better phrase the guy is a talentless wanker,
of course you are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine, but on the dancefloors of Speed, Tempo, Metalheadz and Logical Progression etc .... well ... the hardcore dancers wouldn't agree with you there, that's for sure!
quoted 2 lines major label>major label >fodder, this years yuppie accessory
I am a student strugglin without a bleedin student grant so don't insult me by callin me a poncey yuppie, thank you very much! and I've been into drum'n'bass since the start man, before there was even a bleedin name for it! when there was only a small hardcore group of us ... so don't go flinging stuff like "THIS years accessory" at me, cos you don't the facts! roni size, he
quoted 2 lines isnt>isnt >fit to grace the same planet let alone breathe the same air as kraftwerk
and now you diss Roni Size toooo! "He isn't fit to grace the same planet let alone breathe the same air...???" errrr flippin eck! Words fail me ... we're on different planets, methinks, no point for further discussion .... each to their own and all that .... all I can say is that at the end of a night with Roni Size and REprazent, Adam F, or Groove, Fabio, Bukem, Peshay .... Aphex, Squarepusher, Jeff Mills ... I'm flying and soarin, totally ecstatic, totally on another planet (and i've only got water and the music to fuel me!) and I wasn't feelin THAT way after Kraftwerk at Tribal, however much respect I have for them! Nuff said! Aless

really what did you expect? a return to the musique-concrete of kraftwerk 1 & 2? you can only expect them to change the face of popular music once in their lifetime; remember they are the reason most of us are here

"the start", like when logical progression 1 came out? find it hard to believe that anyone in on the early 90's kenetic lo-fi cut n paste eruptions of mark & dego, shut up and dance et al would dig either the psuedo muso posturings of bukem & adam f or the airbrushed blandness of roni size, these guys are the paul mcartney's of drum n bass, nice stuff your mam would like

yeah but they were there just to please the crowd, i didn't expect anything special - this is a big fuck-off rave we're talking about here you know, not an art gallery. nothing is cast in stone until we hear the new material and then we can see whether they still have anything left to say. i still reckon the lp will be about, erm, spaceships meself

i don't see why not, but after all it *was* a rave wasn't it?

that's quite right, but why do they have to *change* anything? just making good music would be good enough for me. thing is, who IS really looking forward to the new material? the horror of elektric music is still fresh in my mind

ok, adam f, he's pretty crap, let's forget about him for a sec.. i don't find much bland about the stuff bukem has done (i.e 'music' and 'horizons') or, for that matter, a lot of roni size stuff like 'witchcraft' 'soul power' and 'reasons for sharing', and while both have certainly done their fair share of crap remixes (and some great ones too) i don't see any reason to shit on them for not sounding like squarepusher or 4-hero, because that isn't the idea, is it? i mean, good luck to roni size for winning that mercury prize thing, the only important thing is whether he'll be sucked into the showbiz tumble drier and spat out a couple of years down the line as a has-been, or continue to make (IMHO of course) good unpretentious music. unfortunately bukem seems to have already gone down the media-slag path but anyway, whatever, if you don't dig it, that's fine, but i'm not a punk really, at least not 24 hours a day. cheerio! np - global goon \/\/\/\/\/+++++''''|||| REST YOUR EARS, HAVE NO FEARS, DRINK SOME BEERS, SHED SOME TEARS salford sounds, the phriendly fonographic phun-loving label for the noughties..
