I have had a Roland HS-60 for over 10 years, and am wondering whether to get rid of it or keep it. It is in great condition, has about 4-5 octaves of keys, and tons of wave controls. The only thing wrong with it is that one of the built-in speakers is kinda flaky, probably just some loose wire inside. I have all the manuals, a nice stand for it, and even the original box! So I'm wondering, is this machine worth anything these days? I haven't decided if I will try to sell it or lug it across the country in my upcoming move to the Bay Area. If anyone on the list might be interested in buying it, please get in touch with me and/or make an offer. Thanks! Andy Clayton bali@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu

Andy, What you have on your hands is a pretty damn cool synth. What it is a JUNO 106 with speakers. It may not look as cool as a 106 but the guts are exactly the same and you can get the same tones out of it. I wouldn't bother with the speakers on it if I were you.....run it through a stereo or a pair of monitors. As for what its worth, its worth a bit less than a 106 ....so I'd say $300 or so.
