hello,
some friends and i are looking to try & start up a live
electronic band.. 1 friend & i have been creating music for awhile
w/ the computer (using fasttracker2) & 1 synth (his
yamaha cs1-x), but not in a live fashion...
we are just getting into record scratching.. i have used
some home-made samples in song but i did not use a real mixer..
so we are looking for a simple mixer for 2 turntables.
i am looking at the gemini pmx-7 6" rack mixer in the gemini
catalog.. the price isn't listed, but a guy at e.u.wurlitzer
said probly about $100. is this a good price, or can i
get one cheaper/used? and i don't care about the brand.. if
there's a different one for less money (more value ;)) let me know.
as for the turntables, for now we are not using real dj players..
aside from this, any recommendations & info on the following
would be greatly appreciated: (in order of importance)
samplers (dat recorders?)
effects unit(s)
wah pedal (or cutoff in an effects unit?)
more synth(s)
drum machines
speakers/amp
vocoder
hammond b3 organ! (haha $$$$)
(remember not too expensive... and be expensive i mean that my
friend's $700 cs1-x is expensive).. so no expensivo akai samplers :).
any groups that currently use these things, it would be cool to
know what equipment you are using, in detail & how everything is
hooked up together..
i have this ad for an effects unit as follows:
"TEC-8 $220
The hottest multi-effects processor DOD has ever built!
Ergonomic design, analog distortion effects (2 at a time),
analog wah & auto wah, 3 band EQ, noise gate, compressor,
chorus, pitch shift, tremolo, reverb mono & tap delays,
detune, flanger, phaser, ring modulator, pixellator jam-along
jack & more!"
this seems like a lot of stuff for $220... is is crappy
quality or something? any info appreciated...
thanks,
....
