Its sad that music recommendations need to go into the territory of "no, my knowledge is better" and "don't listen to him, listen to me". Perhaps 0 <galaxey@earthlink.net>'s intentions in his post were not intentionally confrontational, perhaps he is trying to get back at me for an old flame-off we had last month. I don't know. However, 0 <galaxey@earthlink.net>, don't you feel *silly* when someone, for the love of music and for the sake of public awareness and education, posts a recommendation that you would respond as you have? As I am certainly open to accepting criticism such as *being too sensitive* and that I'm * taking things a bit too seriously*. Maybe when you posted this, you were just having a good time. Maybe you have me marked for death. Basically, I was recommending an LP that is relatively obscure. This LP, while admittedly not the best of it's genre, is certainly a good pick. And while, yes, Zapp and Roger are *no doubt* KINGS of this sound, they are certainly very easy to find, very known and very common....and dope as fuck. But I was not trying to post a who's who of seminal electro/et al, I was merely trying to publically turn people on to a cool LP. Thats all. Its like " hey don't listen to *that* recommendation of that LP by *The Counts*, check out that *James Brown* guy. Now *there's* some funk music for 'ya." What are you out to prove , 0 <galaxey@earthlink.net>? and thanks to Solenoid for bringing this whole thread up, we would have never been educated to Zapp and Roger had this whole issue not started. reference post:

(blah blah blah) screw dat, just go down to your local store and pick up Zapp & Rogers Greatest Hits (the original old school jams). Now *THAT* is some cheesy, funky, and dated cool shit. Once you hit DOO WA DITTY, you know for sure you'll be shakin' your rump. Grab your Ruca, hold her tight, and bump and grind to _Computer Love_ homey Sorry for the non-IDM content, but my sis used to date cholos all the time. This is the shit los vatos locos would bump in their rides. peace out, 0 np: Zapp&Roger's greatest hits (on repeat mode for the last few hours,:) bpm0@interport.net Peter Becker, Promotions: Retail, DJ Pool Asphodel Records, NYC PO Box 51, Chelsea Station, NY NY 10113 Phone # (212) 965-0265 FAX # (212) 965-0959 http://www.asphodel.com

NOT AT ALL! I thought the spanglish-slang and me talking about sister's old days as a chola would get a rise out of some of the southern Cali IDMers. I wanted to see if there were any others on the list who get a giggle outta throwin' same mexican gangsta cholo shit on the IDM list (odd place to see it mentioned) perhaps he is trying to get back at

REALLY? I must have forgot about it. Do you still need your ass kicked? I guess I could come up with something insulting. we had a flame-off? Well I am always gettin' into that stupid shit, I tend to fall on the low end of the Intelligent part of this list sometimes. Usually checking this list after afew too many beers...

Yes, I was being silly. I was anticipating the "Z and Roger ain't the same type electro" flames. I was educating those didn't know about Z&R; my only real intention....

Yeah, exactly. Just making sure I spread the love. Not everyone on the IDM list knows about Roger regardless of the easiness to find. I said run to your local store. That should have made it very apparent that Z&Roger are easy to find.

as was I. Keeping in mind the obscurity of the LP you mention, I was like "screw that, you can just go get Roger and you'd be set" Try to remember we have members on the list that say Feed Me Weird things is rare find for them. I am just helping out those less fortunate....

Puta Madre! Como jodes wey. Puta Combron, no puedes aceptar un chiste!!! Fuck man calm your ass down. Calmate carajo!!! if you can't understand the spanish, come over to my pad. We'll throw on some Zapp and Roger, I'll translate this shit while we down some beers. Sound like a plan? I'll even get my homey to drop by in his '64! We'll crush the beer cans under his bumper while he hits the switches you bring the chronic, 0 np: Flying Saucer Attack -Montgomery (something like that)
