A quick review of a release from last year that I haven't seen mentioned here. Music With No Name Vol. 1: 1.Outernational Meltdown - Hungry on Arrival (Spring Heel Jack Remix) 2.Pops Mohamed - Ancestral Healing (Woob Remix) 3.Barungwa - Abangoma (DJ Smash Mix) 4.Flora Purim - What You See (Attica Blues Remix) 5.John Tchicai - Love is Touching (The Metamorphosis Mix) 6.Madala Kunene - Ubombo (Smith & Mighty Remix) 7.Amampondo - Togetherness (How Wena!) 8.Fourth World - Firewalker - Jive Talk (The Virgin Land Mix) 9.Sangomas - Siya Dengelela Kgonyama (Roni Size Remix) 10.Iain Ballamy - All Men Amen (Ultramarine Remix) 11.Achisa - Achisa (Ambient Africa) Genre: "World music" vs. electronic music Samples: http://www.tc.umn.edu/nlhome/m045/klau0014/noname.html Notes: Spring Heel Jack remix.. typical (ie. not bad) but repetitive and drawn out way too long Chief Xcel and Automator remix of John Tchicai.. one of the coolest things I've heard lately -- crazy hiphop Moroccan dub, I have no idea what all went in this one. Anyone know of similar stuff? Gavin Hardkiss remix of Amampondo.. starts light and electro-ey, builds from there Moody Boyz remix of Fourth World.. poppy Ultramarine mix... melancholy Greg Hunter and Kris Weston's Ambient Africa... like a dream during a brief afternoon nap

That's actually the track that sticks out for me - I love the deep bass line that plays, and is then taken up a fifth and harmonized with the original - it's huge!
