i'm going to be visiting portland, OR from july 21 til the 28, and then chicago from july 28 til august 1... anyone know of any good idm/drum'n'bass events going on in either city around then? thanks, phil

Portland: You'll be coming a week too late for a live show (Axoimatic and Mothra live programming (fucked up d-n-b) at The Bean 1750 SE 12th Ave 8pm). There are a few d-n-b dj's in Portland, you might catch them at the regular shindigs at the Monte Carlo (13th and SE Belmont, huge sign) every Thursday night. Also, Sunday nights at Satyricon is a somewhat experimental range of djs...I've played there live, and other than the fact that the (loud) sound system is mono and it is a little under-promoted, it is a good atmosphere w/great food next door. I think these events are attended by some of the more creative people in the live/dj'ing scene in Portland... Solenoid solenoid@europa.com <------+
