After being the foreground for Japans club scene since 1990,. United =
Future Organization have taken the world=B9s dance floors by storm =
and finally land in New York on their groundbreaking 3rd Perspective =
Tour. U.F.O. consisting of three untouchable Djs, producers and =
remixers, have been at the foreground of "Jazz Dance" movement from =
the start. They're known for a beat jazz / bossa-samba groove mix but =
it doesn't stop there. Making moves for the dance floor in a way only =
they could pull off, expect to hear drum 'n' bass, Latin and spy =
flick themes knit together like a fine angora sweater. Their formula =
is as secret as that of Coca-Cola, it is unfathomable but at the same =
time quite tasty.

Giant Step and Metropolitan Entertainment have just announced the =
only United States performance by the critically-acclaimed collective =
known as Nuyorican Soul. The ground-breaking Nuyorican Soul album =
released earlier this year to rave reviews will be performed in its =
entirety on July 25th at the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan =
Center. The all-star guest is guaranteed to feature over forty =
musicians including a full orchestra and string section. The =
Nuyorican Soul DJ/producer duo Masters At Work (aka"Little" Louie =
Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez) will be organizing and producing, =
while 103.5 - The New KTU is sponsoring this summer's performance.
Derived from a New Yorker of Puerto Rican descent; Nuyorican Soul was =
inspired by Latino culture cross-breeding with the world's largest =
melting pot, New York City. The listener is taken on a musical =
journey merging the Afro-Latin fusion movement of the early '70's =
with the post hip-hop sounds of the present day. R&B grooves wind =
their way into wide-open jazz improvisations, gloriously percussive =
salsa jams emerge as "shout it out"
soul revivals. Nuyorican Soul results in a vast body of music that =
knows no cultural bounds and celebrates "the power of the groove."
Those attending the Nuyorican Soul record release party this past =
March were witness to a historical forty-five minute jam session by =
legendary musicians including George Benson, Tito Puente, Roy Ayers, =
Hilton Ruiz and India, all together on-stage, making magic happen. =
There was not a soul in the building that night who did not have a =
smile across their face, who did not know they were in on something =
big. On July 25th at the Hammerstein Ballroom, there will be a =
Nuyorican celebration of the grandest proportions. It can only get =
better....
