IMHO, all four EP releases on Dot are pretty essential. They're not all
perfect (not much is), but they're pretty frickin' close.
As for Skam, some may disagree, but I'd recommend all of the releases on
the label except the Gescom records. I rate the Gescom EP on Clear as
being the best they've ever done, followed by the Ae "Key Nell" remix
thingie on Warp. The only Gescom stuff worse than the Skam singles is that
horrendous "Motor" EP on Source. Cringe.
Anyway, back to the original question - if you can find them, get the
Bola, Jega and Boards of Canada EPs on Skam. The Freeform is OK as well,
but not quite as mindblowing.

Schematic is the only one that comes to mind instantly. I just got their
entire catalogue of four releases earlier this week, and I was mighty
impressed. The "Skone" EP by Jeswa is especially sweet. The Autechre
influence is worn a bit too obviously in places, but all in all, they
could be a serious contender for my "label of the year" pick (or a tie
with Dot at the very least) if they keep it up. I think the head of the
label reads the list...?
Also looking promising is Suction, a new label just started up here in
Toronto. I don't know if their first record is even out yet, but I got an
advance copy a couple of weeks back and it's very nice indeed. Split EP
between Lowfish and Solvent, both doing their variation on the chunky,
clanky tekno thang. Rumour has it their next release may involve David
Kristian. I think PulseSoniq will be distributing their records, so any
shop that deals with them should be able to get it.
