...and i'll add a hearty third. snagged this 'un but three or four days ago,
and it's becoming more enjoyable with every listen. unlike much of
uninspired, emotionless dross that inhabits the
'cracklepop-here-an'a-hisssclick-there' template of minimalistic malfeasance
(the numbed, relentless throbbing of snd's latest springs -- or should i say,
shifts lugubriously -- to mind, though i know there are more than a few fans
here), this baby actually *emotes*, yo, and done emotes *good*, 'n like... ;-)
sultry fogs of amelodic tones gently coagulate and blend into languorous,
evocative half-melodies that stir with subtlety and suggestion. toss in the
familiar smattering of clickity-pop whirrrs and any other genre-requisite
atomized rhythms, and you've gotchyerself a heapin' helpin' of some durn fine
minimalism, chief.
'tween having gramm and (finally!) arovane's latest on constant rotation, my
ears have been quivering with utter delight for the better part of the week.
