Took off for San Francisco for the 4th... There was this great smiley face firework... =) visited Etherworld... Joe (the very nice guy who runs the store) stayed open seemingly JUST for us, so I figured I might mention to everyone that he's closing up shop the 31st and has a bunch of great stuff for great prices, plus 10% off... etherw@sirius.com http://www.sirius.com/~etherw/main.html He has Anti ep for $6.99 =) Anyways, picked myself up: Anti ep: All reviews of this stand true. Probably the best Autechre release. Lost & Djarum are great, but Flutter is amazing. The 'non repetitive beats' are fairly frantic, but the music running over it is what the wife fell asleep to last night... great stuff... going to have to get the vinyl now so I can hear it @ both speeds =) HIA/Namlook:S.H.A.D.O.: Can only say that track one was nice with some pleasant, spacy keys over some distorted beats, occaision alien transmission (?) coming into play... fell asleep (it was earilier this morning =) Coil:Unntaural History II: Um... Coil are amazing. This has the Hellraiser Theme's, which actually were my least fav material (though still great)... Airborne Bells alone made this worth the purchase. I think these guys deserve a mention here once in a while. Electronic/noise/expirementation... Global Goon: Goon Hehehehe... Could this get ANY cheesier? NO! Loving this... the 2nd track brought to mind visions of Jerry Sienfeld with the postman uniform on delivering mail =) The track with the drowning cat kept us laughing for hours... this rocks... blend off campy melody's and something else, but not quite sure what... Kinesthesia:empathy box Only listened to first few songs, but nothing like what I expected... is this Jeffs ambient type project? The first two songs were slow, moody and spacy, I believe beatless... really nice... Also got: Current 93's The Starres Are Marching Sadly Home and All The Pretty Horses, plus Edward Ka'Spel's Tanith and The Lion Tree, but they really aren't idm now, are they (still great stuff though) Anyways, if you made it this far... check out Etherworld... Help the poor guy clear his GREAT stock... be doing probably both yourself and him a favorite (just leave the Coil's, Current 93's, NWW's and one copy of Anti on vinyl for me!) __________________________________________ brap@sonic.net *** sfwd@sonic.net http://www.sonic.net/~brap/dot/ DOTinfostation http://www.sonic.net/~brap/gpo/ thehardcoreoutdatedGPOpage c.Gosselin, POBox8264, Santa Rosa, CA 95407

What speed does the CD play it at? 33 or 45? I've got the vinyl and have never thought of it being designed for one particular speed. Can't remember what speed Lost and Djarum sound better at. Tim Those who set out to serve both God and Mammon soon find there is no God.
