I did! - missed you, tom, but it was entirely too crowded for me to go
searching for "one guy, w/Microphone and Yonkers hat"...
Impressions: I'm not going to get intellectual or even "intelligent" with
you - not capable of it... But I had a great time... I loved Afro-celt
SS, but Talvin Singh - although I like him a lot, "Your attention please
Your attention please" blah blah blah... And I can't figure out for the
life of me why the hell he was wearing a full-out Adidas warm-up suit when
it was 150 degrees outside. Wished I would have been up front with the
dancing people, tho, my crowd was somewhat boring...
Transglobal Underground - interesting, attention-grabbing, for a while but
I guess I'm a bit too cynical for that "all one people" crap... Or I've
heard it too much... But, fun - although I actually enjoyed Afro-Celt SS more.
Afro-celt SS- being subjected to entirely too much Irish music from my
parents (stepfather is an Irish fiddler, mother is a fiddling, tin
whistling, Irish-gaelic-learning musical goddess), which unfortunately
drives me batty, I found traditional irish tunes with an african flair
actually INTERESTING - I'm buying the cd for my mother so we can have
something to listen to when I go visit...
