almost outta time, just wanted to mention that the vibert is very slick.... it's a three track 12" on mo'wax quite possibly called "Do Unto Others".... (not quite sure). Two tracks is slick Wagon Christ era trip hop beats, and a nice'n smooth plug-style drum'n bass track... though it's much fuller and slicker sounding than most of the plug material I've heard. Indeed, it's a nice sign of the impending album to follow.... Oh, and the sleeve is quite purrty too :) White with a little cut-out'ish pattern like those scissor tricks I did as a kid.... (you know, fold a piece of paper, make a few cuts, and than open the page to a reveal a nice pattern!). Yadda yadda.... zZzz.... (more toys with impending reviews: notturno 12" (beaumont hannant's wife/girlfriend/roommate or something... kinda housey, produced by bh) v/vm mini-lp, and sister machine gun's forth lp (haha, just joking. It's crap though... and, haha... it's got a track with drum'n bass loops!!!) Yours everlasting... I recently picked up the new Luke Vibert 12" on Mo Wax. It is a really nice continuationof the the style on "A polished solid". Its more downtempo ala Wagon Christ but it has a much more live feel. The drums sounds are more or less like a real kit. The bass a has thet acoustic sound. Whereas Wagon Christ tended to be more otherworldly in the drum and synth sounds, the vibert material is almost real. I've listened to it a few times and see no resembance to the Plug stuff. This is breaking no new ground, but it has a mellow, relaxing beauty that soothes. The only bummer is the little phrase "taken from the upcoming album" I noticed at the bottom after I got it home. Does this mean there's nothing on it that won't be on the full length? Mo' Mo' Wax milking of my money for a non-promo promo. I had asked this a while back, after I decided to not buy it because of the little line on the back... anyone know if the tracks are all from the full length?
