I've consistently seen TJ & RDJ mentioned in the same sentence regarding styles, but fail to see much musical correlation at all. To my ears, TJ is paving some new ground and Mr. AFX is bringing up the rear (as far as D'n B goes). Tim

I took this to mean, when you read about TJ and RDJ in the same sentence regarding style, that they both have a beautiful sense of *melody* in spades, in that their stuff can sound likes 'songs', as opposed to relying on that cornerstone of techno/electronica called 'repitition'. Of course you are right in that they do sound very different, although their output of late has sounded very busy on both counts. There is a method to TJ's madness, their is not as coherent a method to RDJ's break style madness...but that's the point right? peace Nate On Fri, 27 Jun 1997, Tim Zeigler wrote:

Chris Fahey Sez: I agree insofar as TJ and RDJ don't seem to be making music which is at all similar stylistically. But I disagree that RDJ could be described as behind the curve in d&b, because, like TJ, he is not really making d&b. His music has mucho d&b elements, but he is not solely a d&b artist. -CF
