Consider investing in you music by using a better cartridge. I'm picky
about sound but mainly a CD person. So I've got my turntable from
college, when I was picky on a tight budget -- a Grado cartridge that
listed for over $200, but I was able to get it for about $125. I've
really never had tracking problems like you describe, and at a little
under 1.5 grams. Wouldn't scratch with it or anything, though.
