Yah, exactly. I was distinctly underwhelmed as well. There were about 2/3
tracks that stood out, the rest were extremely so-so.
Wow - I can't believe I just agreed with a Jon Drukman post. Thats got to
be the first time since I joined IDM three years ago. I feel like celebrating.

I think the most recent was the Too Funk alias - smooth 'tech-house' as it
gets called now. One lush Mad Mike styled fill as well.

Hmm - not sure about the innovative tag there. The early Ferox stuff is
nice but pretty aimless - there was a good one (the fourth I think) that
was Russ doing some 7th Plain (Luke Slater) style stuff - quite moody and
good. The rest, to me, has seemed to be pretty competent tech-house mixing
tackle but not much else. The Ian O'Brien stuff is nice but doesn't quite
gel with me - if you want the real deal, check out _Nation 2 Nation_ and
_Galaxy 2 Galaxy_ on UR. However, some folk really dig O'Briens sound so YMMV.
For the guy that wanted to know, Russ Gabriel also used to record under the
name VCF for Dave Clarkes Magnetic North label. Hard, German, distorted
techno stuff which I'm assuming he's pretty embarrassed about nowadays.
