hello, my apologies for the crosspost. i have a friend who is living in japan and she has offered to pick me up a cd or two before she comes home. my question to everyone is this. what would be the best cd's to buy in japan based purely on a trainspotters ideals? by this i mean which cd's offer the best bonus tracks or unreleased tracks or who has put out a japanese only collection that is a must have! i am more interested in unreleased/rare tracks than say different artwork on the covers. although, the ultimate would be the rare/unreleased comp with different artwork! i like most of what is discussed on these lists and have pretty broad tastes. thanks kindly for any info that anyone might have to offer me. regards, peace, love and ambience. d... orbital@clo.com http://www.clo.com/~orbital

I'd suggest 808 State's Japanese-only remix/etc compilations "Forecast" (circa Gorgeous) and "Thermo Kings" (circa Don Solaris). I'm also pretty fond of YMO's "Techno Bible" box set . . . If you're interested in stuff beyond the scope of these lists drop me a line for more suggestions. -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ::: Internet Music Wantlists: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo/Wantlists

...and i'd recommend _thermo kings_ over _forecast_. :) i'd also recommend anything on the dorobo label, especially shinjuku thief. soundscape-y dark ambient. i know you can get these in the states, but tehy're so damned hard-to-find and expensive on top of that. * * + * * \|/ * *----]euroboy[----]micah.stupak[----]mjsst87+@pitt.edu[------e-+ * >>bitwise.operators /|\ * * * + ideology is theft.
