THE COOLEST MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT PARTY IN THE WORLD...?
We're celebrating Midsummer's Night at the North Pole with the coolest acts
in the Northern Hemisphere. Ultraviolet & Biosphere will be playing a live
concert at midnight on Saturday June 21st, in brilliant sunshine and
against
a dazzling backdrop of icebergs, glaciers and the Arctic Ocean. The
audience
of 500 is a local one of Russian, Norwegian and Polish miners and
scientists
- and an imported one of the world's leading style media, TV & radio crews.
No-one has done this before.
The event is being held at Svalbard, the northernmost settlement on Earth,
and where the annual cycle is equally devided between total darkness and
constant, dazzling sunshine - for 4 months at a time! Travel across the
mountainous and glacial terrain is by helicopter or snowmobile and, due to
the dangerous polar bears, it's unsafe to go out without a gun. This is no
ordinary concert venue...
You can see features on the event on MTV, and in GQ, The Face, Melody
Maker,
Mixmag, Loaded, Dazed & Confused, DJ, and many others. The event is
designed
to highlight the exceptional talent and creativity exsisting in the Arctic,
from where these artists originate.
The new album by Biosphere, 'Substrata' is out now on All Saints records, a
label shared with Brian Eno, and follows his last UK no.1 album, 3 film
scores and music for ads for Levi's and AST Computer.
Ultraviolet are making their international debut and are already the
subject
of fierce competition by record companies. They are predicted to be huge
worldwide. Expect an album early next year.
Support is provided by DJ AbStract, Scandinavia's foremost radio and club
DJ.
Please contact us with any queries. Photos and interviews available next
week.
Talent from and playing in the Arctic, the last great wilderness... and the
world is watching. Like Arnie says, "There's a freeeeze coming!!!"
