well, 611 (611 south second st) has a pretty good experimental section, and their drum'n'bass section is good, too. an entire chunk of RePHLeX, good ninja tune. matter of fact, last time down there, i picked up every one of the jazz brakes for about $40 total. pretty good. :) all vinyl, though. 3rd st rock & jazz has a good acid-jazz-ish section. when i say -ish, i mean any idm that sampled a jazz record gets thrown into the jazz section, even some not that jazzy ones (mike flowers pops remixes). zenon might know one or two more. hey, speaking of which, we gotta get together sometime, zenon. at the very least, i never got that photek mpeg to work. ;) * * + * * \|/ * *----]euroboy[----]micah.stupak[----]mjsst87+@pitt.edu[------e-+ * >>bitwise.operators /|\ * * * + ideology is theft.

611 Music. It's at 611 S. 4th, just off South Street. This is a fantastic DJ-oriented store. CDs and too many 12"s to ponder, all available for your listening pleasure. Also, a new DJ store opened on Pine around 12th street. More house style. Nice Brit chap runs the place. HMV also (15th and Walnut) has quite a good selection of dance and ambient, though not always organized in any logical manner. To the left of the escalator on the first floor is the relevant rack. But also check the pop section for specific artists (Namlook and Laswell have their categories, for example). Best, 3
