ok, uhm just got a hold of the new full length today. listened to it three times in a row. that alone says something. well, uhm, for once i can say that this is paradinas' comeback, and mean it. the full length as a whole has a drum n bass feel to it, some squarepusher style tracks. actually the fifth track is a straight rip off of squarepusher's "happy little wilberforce". beatbox samples that slowly are cut up to create a manic breakbeat that then gets a bit more cut up and sped up until it's like one of those pusher tracks where the drums are just repeating like a machine gun, ok i'll stop. i can honestly say this album is his best work yet, and i have everything he's released under every name except for a couple rarities maybe. i lost a bit of faith when i heard urmur bile trax because out of the eight tracks, two were unlistenable, three of them went on forever, and two of them never really went anywhere, leaving me with one decent track. most of the album doesn't even sound like anything he's ever touched, ever. one track even sounds like a tweeked version of a djtrace/ed rush track. manic breakbeats and space noises are evenly spread across the album, leaving only one beatless track, if even that. i first i kinda wished for some more orchestrated pieces like some of the ones off of bluff limbo or tango and vectiv. so ya, go out get it soon. it blows away nearly everything he's touched in the past two years, including the speedy j remix. ok then... -kiya nowon: autechre "why r are we?/why are we r?" 12"
