Jimpster "Martian Arts" (Instinct AMB6009-2)
This was licensed from Freerange Records (about which I know nada), but
Instinct Electronica has released it in the US. What I like about it
is the live playing combined with programmed breaks. Like Squarepusher
(but from a much more laid back point of reference) this recalls '70s
Jazz Fusion, but re-contextualized into the 90s. At any rate, a bargain
at the domestic price.
The Sons of Silence (Leaf Dock 7CD)
I bought this on the strength of it being on Leaf, with no idea what
to expect. What it is not: Drum and Bass. What it is: Uptempo Dub
(if there can be such a thing) with a lo fi edge. Reminds me of some
of the Clash's dub experiments -- has a nice snotty edge to it.

because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to
each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78
